Start of Mills Camp demo
I'm sure DEM appreciates the understanding and patience of all campers as they work to enhance the camping experience at Burlingame State Campground. Some campsites located nearby construction zones will temporary look as if they’re closed for good. After construction is complete, campsites will be reconstructed. Here's what to expect during bathroom reconstruction :
Memorial Day is celebrated on Monday, May 25, 2026. Most campers reserve Friday, May 22, Saturday, May 23... and Sunday, May 24 if you want to camp the long weekend. People often book additional days before and after to avoid the rush of check-in and check out on holiday weekends.
July 4th falls on a Saturday in 2026. Everyone will start showing up to set up their campsites on Thursday to beat the rush. If possible, book Thursday, July 2 plus Friday/Sat, July 3-4 to prepare for all the area events over the weekend. Book Sunday and stay the afternoon before heading home!
Labor Day is celebrated on Monday, September 7, 2026. This means most campers will arrive on Friday, Sept. 4th and book for three nights. Many kids are already back in school, so expect a quieter stay. Extend your stay a day either side to avoid lines. Late season technically begins Sept. 8th.
Columbus Day (aka Indigenous People Day) is Oct. 12, 2026. Book Oct 9th for three days. This is also closing weekend, so stay until time runs out on Monday! *B4B's "Campground Creep & Candy Crawl" is on Saturday October 10th-5:30-8pm. Participate in trick-or-treat and campsite decorations!

Fish Camp at Burlingame State Campground allows for a view of Watchaug Pond from most of the sites. Keep in mind that RVs may block your view. Expect a breeze off the water. Very few of the sites in this area offer privacy. It can get quite noisy on the weekends. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Report water/drainage issues in B4B's private Facebook group.

The EM Area at Burlingame State Campground has many nice campsites for both tenters and RVs. It's known as a quieter section. You will utilize the Mid-North bathroom. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Be sure to alert B4B to additional flood prone sites.

Easy access to both Mid-North and Fish Camp bathrooms. Under the pines-- 200s are along the main route to Fish Camp and 300s sit back more towards the tree line. Some 330s are steep grade and not suitable for RV entry. The higher the number the more woodsy it becomes. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Please report problem sites in the group.

Lower 400s could utilize Fih Camp bathrooms, but the majority will have to utilize the porta jons. The 400 section is known for quiet sites due to the remote area. Lots of wildlife. Many full shade sites. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Please report problem sites in the group.

The 500s section at Burlingame State Campground has so many nice campsites for both tenters and RVs. Here is where you will find larger, private sites. Lots of good campsites for hammock camping too. Some of the 500s could use Mills bathroom, but expect to drive to a flush toilet. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Be sure to alert B4B to additional flood prone sites.

Very few campsites in Legiontown Area are reservable in 2026. 668/669 may be suitable for solar needs. No bathrooms are nearby, Porta-jons are close. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Please alert B4B to additional danger zone sites.

Mills Camp is easy-in/easy-out of the campground. Many of the extra-cost pull-thru sites are located in this section. There are some nice sites along the out perimeter and the new bathroom is a big bonus. This section is popular for Rvs and tends to be one of the quieter secions. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Be sure to alert B4B to additional flood prone sites.

These sites were finally made public in 2024. 800-806 are larger than the ones(807-820) mixed into the cabin areas further below. Most are only suitable for tenting with a couple of exceptions. Mills Camp bathroom is walking distance, but don't cut through occupied sites. Bold #s have been previously listed on B4B's recommended campsite list. Italicized #s have had reports of flooding/draining issues during wet weather. Be sure to alert B4B to additional flood prone sites.
